Hello. Welcome to 2012. As it’s the start of a new year, we thought we should look into the mystical Manifest crystal ball and see what’s predicted for the 12 months ahead in the world of communications. Here’s the PR & Social Media instalment:

Manifest London needs you! (well, we need a PR and social media account manager to be precise!)
Manifest is not like other PR agencies. We’re shaking the dust from the PR industry and we need a PR and social media account manager to join the revolution.
Not just any account manager, though. We need someone who is looking for something different to the big, slow-moving agencies. Someone who is a media junkie, who has creativity in their bones and who is willing to break the mould in order to achieve something remarkable. We need someone who is passionate about the work they do and the success of their clients. Oh, and you need to make a decent brew too.
Joining our award-winning London PR team, you’ll be pivotal in delivering genuinely groundbreaking campaigns for a portfolio of clients that range from consumer technology to craft beer, innovating both online and offline to achieve amazing results.
So send us your CV to iwouldliketowork@manifestlondon.co.uk and one main reason why we should have a chat. No ‘gurus’, no luvvie-darlings and no agencies please – just those people who think differently.
Oops – another Twitter episode for the blooper reel. One of Fox News’ verified Twitter profiles @FoxNewsPolitics was hacked today (probably by Script Kiddie according to the Beeb) and proceeded to announce the (fake and frankly tasteless) assassination of President Barack Obama. Ouch.
Okay, so this isn’t exactly groundbreaking news, but Manifest has just launched it’s own URL shortener at http://mnfst.co
It’s pretty much the same as any other URL shortener (with a nifty bookmarklet) so if you’re bored of your bit.ly and tired of ow.ly then give it a go.
It’s only a small thing, but it means we can customise links and make our tweets and Facebook posts that bit more Manifest. Loads of publishers do it, such as Mashable and Techcrunch, but it’s quite rare for brands to have their own. I’m not really sure why, as it’s a nice, simple and subtle way to keep things consistent. We’ll be building the shortener into our new look Digital Newsroom soon, but that’s as far as I’ll go in terms of giving away the amazing new features. Keep ‘em peeled for the launch.
Anyway, I just thought I’d shed some light on why our links look a little bit different. Go on, give it a try…

‘Tis the season to get all nostalgic, so as we hit December I have compiled the first ever Manifest review of the year. It’s been a crazy one, including the world’s smallest HD camcorder, the world’s most alcoholic beer, the world’s smallest protest and the world’s first monster supply store. So, without further ado – here are Manifest’s highlights of 2010:
