Turn your URLong into a URLittle…

Okay, so this isn’t exactly groundbreaking news, but Manifest has just launched it’s own URL shortener at http://mnfst.co

It’s pretty much the same as any other URL shortener (with a nifty bookmarklet) so if you’re bored of your bit.ly and tired of ow.ly then give it a go.

It’s only a small thing, but it means we can customise links and make our tweets and Facebook posts that bit more Manifest. Loads of publishers do it, such as Mashable and Techcrunch, but it’s quite rare for brands to have their own. I’m not really sure why, as it’s a nice, simple and subtle way to keep things consistent. We’ll be building the shortener into our new look Digital Newsroom soon, but that’s as far as I’ll go in terms of giving away the amazing new features. Keep ‘em peeled for the launch.

Anyway, I just thought I’d shed some light on why our links look a little bit different. Go on, give it a try…

We like to understand our clients from the ground up and Bachy Soletanche is no exception – especially when it comes to learning about diaphragm wall shafts and secant piled walls.

World map of social networks

Check out this cool interactive map of the world – highlighting the dominant social network in each country. It would be much more useful if it had a ‘leaderboard’ of networks for each country and membership numbers etc, but surely that’s a matter of time (in fact, clicking through to the data set shows it really is embarrassingly top-line – but the possibility for doing all of the above appears to be there).

Unsurprisingly the map is dominated by Facebook, but it’s interesting to see where other networks have a stronghold.

‘Many Eyes’ is something I’m going to check out in a bit more detail too…
